Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. During its long term history it received lots of epithets: Golden Prague, Tower Prague, The Pearl pf European Crown etc. Many poets and writers dedicated their musical compositions, paintings, sculptures, operas, poems to it. The history of the city began in 3rd century b.c., when green and fertile valley of Vltava River chose Celt tribes. The most numerous and powerful tribe was Boji, after which Czech was named Bohemia by Latin historians. In 5 century, during the Great Migration of People Slovans came on this territory. They live here till nowadays.

As an independent subject the capital of Czech Republic formed in 1784 as a result of consolidation of 6 royal districts, each of which had his own territory, architectures and administration. The most ancient are Prague Castle and Vyshegrad. According to the chronicles of famous historian Kosmas the first ruler of Czech Republic Premyslovec Borzihovoj founded rich and fortified city on the hill – Prague Castle, and in the 10th century on the embankment of Vltava River arise high fortress – Vysegrad. Other royal districts formed much later in 13th, 14th and 15th centuries, but are also known all over the world due to their wonderful history and architecture. Tourists are offered to make a tour across the Royal Road, was which all Czech kings went trough. The ritual was invented by Czech king Karl the Great. The rulers started their road from the ancient hill Vysegrad and passed the embankment Old Town, Charles Bridge and Lesser Town, finishing in the Prague Castle. The king was followed by citizens and nobility the whole way. The peasant watched the ceremony from their windows and through flowers and sweets to their feats.

The Royal Road is not only contribution of Karl the Greet into the history of Prague. During his ruling in 14th century the Prague became one of the biggest cities in Europe with its magnificent
architecture developed industry and Charles University which attracted
politicians and scientists from all over the world.
One more period of capital history is 16th century, times of
ruling of Gabsburg king Rudolf the II, when Prague received the fame of
one the most gorgeous European cities. The city was rebuilt in
Renaissance and attracted attention of painters, composers and
astrologists. At the end of century, after the kings death Czech Lands
and Prague went through the collapse the Hussite wars, which negatively influenced
economic and cultural life of country. Only in 18th century the city
restored its meaning as a cultural capital of Eastern Europe. In
current times Prague is a wonderful city, cultural, scientific and industrial centre of country.
